I have always asked myself, "When will it feel like I belong?" for as long as I can remember. After some time, I figured fitting in wasn't the most important part of living. Being yourself- being comfortable in your own skin, and appreciative of what you have is.
I used to be afraid of being alone, but I eventually learned to accept the silence and found its light. Being alone gave me the chance to finally hear my loud, endless thoughts. It finally gave me a chance to re-evaluate my life.
I was trapped within the illusion that I had to change myself according to who I was with.
In the end, your life is in your own hands. Everything you do and every path you take is completely up to you.
I used to live in a world of regret and blamed myself a lot. As time went by, I finally understood why they say we should never regret anything because at some point in time, even if it was just for a second, it was something you wanted.
The thing I want you all to take away from this is that you shouldn't live your life in thirst for someone else's light to shine on you. You don't need their attention to be happy. It doesn't matter what others say or what they think of you. We are living for ourselves and ourselves only. We may care about others and want to protect, love and share our all with them but it is only YOUR life that you have complete control of.
I may not think the same way as you. I may not be as pretty as others. I may not be the nicest person out there but this is my life and I won't let your words or actions hurt me anymore.
And if you are one of those people to judge others because they simply aren't like you, you are below them. At least they have the courage to be themselves, unlike you who looks at them with hateful eyes all because they don't live the stereotypical life that society deems as 'normal'.
They may not listen to the same music everyone else listens to, or share the same interests as the majority of the people around them but at least they have the decency to acknowledge they are different. They aren't pretending to be something they're not.
We need to get away from conformity and the fears of never fitting in.
Cherish those that aren't afraid to be themselves.

“To put away aimlessness and weakness, and to begin to think with purpose, is to enter the ranks of those strong ones who only recognize failure as one of the pathways to attainment; who make all conditions serve them, and who think strongly, attempt fearlessly, and accomplish masterfully.”
- James Allen Quotes
Sometimes I wonder how people see me and what they think of me. It scares me a bit, honestly. I am sure though, that what they think of me,
what they think my life is, is a complete misperception. I have always tried to show myself as a carefree person, as someone who wont get bothered
because of public judgements. I am sure my friend and family think there is nothing going wrong in my life, that I do not worry enough, that
I am always happy. And I am sure they probably somewhat hate me for it because, lets admit it, there is nothing worse than seeing someone
who is life seems so perfect while yours is a complete mess. Truth is, I have become an expert at pretending. I think we are all experts
or at least we are getting there.
